What we do

Kentik is looking for a highly motivated Technical Evangelist to support our growing team and help bring the Kentik solution to market. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Content Marketing. This candidate will work with some of the best and brightest engineers in the industry and channel the voice of one of the most innovative companies in the networking space.

The ideal candidate not only has a strong technical background with a focus on public, private, and hybrid clouds as they relate to networking but also has a proven ability to engage with the industry and provide thought leadership.

What you'll do

  • Champion cloud technology, raising awareness and fostering enthusiasm at Kentik and beyond
  • Act as an advocate and promoter for cloud technologies within the network engineering and developer communities
  • Provide thought leadership to the industry through social media, Kentik content, and placed media in alignment with Kentik’s strategy and roadmap to build Kentik’s reputation in cloud networking
  • Run educational and promotional initiatives to drive awareness and adoption of Kentik Cloud
  • Be an ambassador of the Kentik brand through public speaking engagements, blogs, podcasts, social media, and webinars
  • Create and manage programs, events, workshops, and other initiatives to foster community growth and engagement
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, customer meetings, and industry meetups

  • 7+ years of relevant technical/commercial experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to share previous content
  • Deep understanding of and demonstrated curiosity about cloud technologies, frameworks, and trends
  • Expertise in cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud providers, such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
  • Strong foundational level understanding of core networking technologies like routing, switching, and firewalling
  • Exceptional storytelling skills to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • A social media-first approach to thought leadership and a proven history of connecting with your audience across multiple platforms
  • Willingness to travel globally as needed

Nice to haves:

  • Direct experience with one or more network observability suites (e.g., Kentik, Arbor/Netscout, SolarWinds, ManageEngine, Splunk, Nagios, Dynatrace, Catchpoint, etc.)
  • Existing social media following and recognition as a thought leader in the public cloud
  • Comprehensive knowledge and awareness of industry competition, solutions, technologies, and product offerings
  • Experience working in a SaaS environment
  • Experience working in a pre-IPO startup environment

Our compensation philosophy encompasses a fair program for all in order to attract, engage and retain talented individuals who will drive our business and wow our customers.

The compensation range for this position is: $192,000 - $260,000. This range reflects the low and high end of the U.S. compensation range Kentik reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role. The actual compensation offered may be lower or higher than the stated range depending on various factors, including but not limited to:

  • Experience with the skill sets required for success
  • Demonstrated competencies and potential 
  • A geographic market-based approach
