Your role and responsibilities

We are seeking a Technical Engagement Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and driving technical engagements with our clients and partners. This role requires a scientific background (preferably Quantum Physics) and a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and excellent communication abilities. You will work closely with the Head of Product, as well as the research and hardware teams to position and evangelize the products for customers and partners, and provide guidance on the value proposition and benefit those customers and partners can achieve with our services and platforms. The Quantum Computing Technical Engagement Manager will act as a bridge between our engineering teams and external stakeholders, ensuring successful project delivery and fostering strong relationships.


You are also responsible for:

  • Client Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and partners.
    • Understand client needs and requirements, and translate them into actionable tasks for the engineering team.
    • Conduct regular status meetings and provide updates to clients on project progress.
    • Fully understand the strategy and objectives, taking on goals set by our team, and triaging and understanding desired parameters of engagements.
    • Provide technical understanding of the product and its capabilities, guiding clients to useful features and assisting with simple problems.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead and manage technical projects from inception to completion.
    • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope.
    • Manage aspects of joint projects with partners, ensuring execution on shared deliverables.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Provide technical guidance and support to clients during the implementation of Xanadu’s quantum solutions.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during engagements.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in quantum computing and related technologies.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with the engineering, product, and sales teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
    • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and training sessions to clients and partners.
    • Facilitate communication between internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and expectations.
    • Keep leadership up-to-date on engagements, leads, and progress, exercising good judgment on when to involve team members.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners to foster long-term collaboration.
    • Identify opportunities for additional business and upsell Xanadu’s products and services.
    • Gather feedback from clients to inform product development and improvements.
    • Uncover new potential partners and initiatives, maintaining strong relationships aligned with our strategy.
    • Identifying new revenue streams, managing and growing revenue from our core services

Required Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical engagement, business development, or related role.
  • Strong understanding of quantum computing principles and technologies highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing complex technical projects and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
