POSITION OVERVIEW:

A technical documentation writer is responsible for the creation, publication and maintenance of product information according to the product life cycle and the requirements made by Product Management (PM) in cooperation with quality and development. A technical communicator produces technical documentation (like data sheets or application notes) and product information in the data management system. With help of Product Management, he/she makes sure that the product information is present on the webpage is complete and correct.

The technical documentation writer is part of Digital Marketing (DM), a team with a strong customer focus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creation, review and publication of technical documentation (data sheets), graphical drawings and product information on the public website (www.nexperia.com) with respect to the product life cycle and milestones.

  • Creation, review and publication of customer specific product information. Make sure that customer specific information is not published on the public website and is transferred directly to the dedicated customer in the agreed timeframe.

  • Coordination, execution and control of data inputs; securing correct data sheet content according to controlled and approved final input and approved technical edits.

  • Work according to quality standards and technical documentation guidelines.

  • Creation and revision of technical illustrations used in the technical documentation (Adobe Illustrator CS4).

  • Workload and capacity planning.

  • Enter, maintain and consolidate data in Product Master Data repository (Eptos) and CMS (Alfresco). Create documents using oXygen and Adobe PDF.

SKILLS /COMPETENCIES

Hard Skills:

  • Good in understanding and using DITA-based single-source publishing redaction systems and data management systems.

  • English: Professional working proficiency / excellent command.

  • Thoroughly, precise, organized and structured way of working.

  • Good technical writing skills, experienced in STE (Simplified Technical English).

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Soft Skills:

  • Very good coordinative and communicative skills.

  • Strong team player.

  • Ability to work with constantly changing priorities.

  • Precise in wording.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Non-Engineer with technical and IT affinity/ Engineer with ability of generalizing.

  • Bachelor’s degree or certified apprenticeship in technical, commercial, or linguistic profession.

  • Experience required: 3 – 5 years of experience in technical documentation.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

KPIs – Deliverables and Process:

  • Main KPI: satisfy the business needs for technical documentation.

  • New products: high-qualitative full product information (documents + online information) within a week after gate is reached.

  • Updates belonging to a customer/product information notes process: high-qualitative technical documents and updated product information effective date. Draft of updated information must be submitted to quality before CIN publication.

  • Other updates: KPI to be defined depending on the business line priorities.

Output (Deliverables):

  • Technical documentation (Data sheets).

  • Technical product information.
