Job Description:
The Technical Document Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of client standards. This role involves converting and formatting documents, applying appropriate XML tags, and validating the final output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Conversion: Convert Word and PDF documents into XML format, preserving formatting and structure.
- XML Tagging: Apply appropriate XML tags to text, tables, figures, equations, and other content elements according to client standards.
- XML Validation: Validate XML documents against the client schema to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- PDF Generation: Generate high-quality PDF documents from XML files.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks to identify and address errors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with editors, technical reviewers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and meet quality standards.
- Tool Proficiency: Be proficient in using tools like Arbortext and other relevant software.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding of XML and XSLT
- Experience with document conversion and formatting tools
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
