Technical Director of Engineering

Stream powers Chat, Video, Activity Feeds and AI Moderation for billions of global end-users across thousands of different apps like Strava, Bumble, eBay, Patreon and many more.

We’re looking for a Technical Director of Engineering to lead our core business teams responsible for all three API products: Chat, Feed, and Moderation.

What will you do:

• You’ll lead multiple teams until you cover the full scope, eventually leading 3 teams: chat, feeds, moderation.

• Will be responsible for product roadmap, customer launches, people management, and general project management;

Apply if you:

• Have shipped production code within the last 6 months and have an active Github/OSS contributions

• Hired and managed multiple product or platform teams of strong/successful engineers in the past, ideally in a startup/VC backed environment

• Love building large-scale, user-facing APIs in Go (no need to know it beforehand, we can teach you)

• Understand distributed systems tradeoffs and can debug performance issues at scale.

• Already using AI tools to amplify your productivity

• Work hard and obsess over writing code that is fast & reliable
