Your Role
As a Gensler Technical Designer, focusing on commercial interior environments, you will design and produce technical documentation, as well as communicate project progress to team members and clients to ensure success. You’re a fit for this role if you have experience in documentation and execution of the project, are proficient in Revit, and enjoy working with a team of architects and interior designers that bring design dreams to life. This is a good role for someone who is technically proficient, comfortable in client-facing settings, and enjoys working with a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem solving and design excellence.
What You Will Do
Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specification, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documentation
Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of project
Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
Work directly with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, regulatory agencies, and clients to help meet overall project objectives
Utilize hand sketches and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts
Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project
Actively participate and contribute to the financial performance of project
Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships
Your Qualifications
Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture or Interior Design, preferably with experience designing corporate interiors projects
3-5 years of professional experience with focus on Architecture or Interior Design
Licensed Architect OR NCIDQ preferred
LEED accreditation encouraged
Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development
Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Highly Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and other 3D modeling software
**The base salary range will be estimated between $75,000 - $90,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
