Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Technical Cutover Lead to oversee and manage the cutover strategy, planning, and execution for SAP S/4HANA transformation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating technical and business activities related to data migration, system transitions, and go-live execution, ensuring minimal business disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
Cutover Planning & Strategy:
  • Develop and manage the overall SAP S/4HANA cutover strategy, covering pre-cutover, cutover, and post-go-live activities.
  • Create and maintain a detailed cutover plan, including system freeze, data migration, and technical go-live checkpoints.
  • Define entry and exit criteria for each phase of the cutover process.
  • Establish communication plans to align stakeholders, including business, IT, and third-party vendors.

Execution & Coordination:
  • Lead the technical and cross-functional teams involved in technical and business cutover, including BASIS, Data Migration, Security, Infrastructure, and Functional teams.
  • Manage the technical landscape transitions, ensuring proper sequencing of system upgrades, transports, and integrations.
  • Oversee data migration cutover activities, collaborating with the data and functional teams to validate data consistency and accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to downtime minimization strategies and backup/recovery procedures.
  • Execute dry runs and mock cutover activities to mitigate risks before go-live.

Risk Management & Issue Resolution:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to prevent go-live disruptions.
  • Conduct cutover readiness assessments, ensuring all pre-requisites are met before execution.
  • Monitor real-time cutover progress, addressing any technical roadblocks or dependencies.
  • Implement rollback strategies in case of cutover failure.

Stakeholder Engagement & Documentation:
  • Work closely with PMO, Business Process Owners, IT Leads, and SAP Consultants to ensure alignment on cutover milestones.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports to leadership and steering committees.
  • Document lessons learned and continuously improve the cutover framework for future SAP projects.

Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 14+ years of SAP implementation experience, with at least 5+ years in a Cutover Lead role.
  • Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA transformation projects, system upgrades, or cloud migrations.

Technical Skills:
  • Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture
  • Expertise in SAP Data Migration, Transport Management (TMS), and Integration tools.
  • Strong knowledge of cutover tools and methodologies (e.g., SAP Activate, SolMan, MS Project).
  • Familiarity with Cloud (Azure) and on-premise SAP deployments.
  • Experience with downtime optimization techniques, such as Near-Zero Downtime (NZDT) or DMO with System Move.

Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to risk assessment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP Certifications in S/4HANA or Project Management (PMI, ITIL, Agile).
  • Experience working in agile and DevOps environments for SAP implementations.
  • Prior experience in large-scale SAP brownfield and implementation rollouts in industries specifically CPG
