Job Description Summary

The Technical Consultant is a client‑facing technical expert responsible for designing, configuring, integrating, and supporting complex financial systems within the Securities Finance domain. The role combines strong technical expertise with a solid understanding of business processes, enabling the consultant to translate client requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works independently or as part of a global Professional Services team on client‑facing technical consulting engagements
  • Acts as a primary technical point of contact for clients, collaborating closely with client IT, operations, and internal delivery teams
  • Analyzes client technical environments, system architectures, and integration requirements
  • Translates functional and business requirements into technical designs, configurations, and implementation approaches
  • Designs, configures, and implements solutions across multiple platforms and applications within Securities Finance ecosystems
  • Produces detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, data mappings, and configuration guides
  • Supports system integration across upstream and downstream systems, ensuring data consistency, performance, and reliability
  • Analyzes system impacts, dependencies, and technical risks across complex, multi‑system landscapes
  • Provides expert input on technology selection, architecture decisions, and implementation strategies
  • Defines and supports technical testing activities, including system, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing
  • Investigates and resolves complex technical issues, data inconsistencies, and production defects
  • Supports client environments during go‑live and post‑implementation stabilization phases
  • Collaborates with development teams, product teams, and third‑party vendors to resolve technical challenges
  • Consults directly with clients and may travel to client sites as required by project needs
  • Acts as a technical workstream lead or sub‑project lead on complex client engagements
  • Mentors junior technical consultants and reviews technical deliverables
  • Supports pre‑sales technical activities, including solution design, estimations, and client presentations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience within the financial services industry, preferably in Securities Lending, Repo, or Collateral Management environments.

Core Technical & Client‑Facing Skills

  • Strong technical expertise in enterprise financial systems, preferably within the Securities Finance domain
  • Proven experience in a client‑facing technical consulting role, delivering complex implementations and integrations
  • Solid understanding of front‑to‑back SecFinance workflows and how they map to technical solutions
  • Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical architecture, configuration, and integration designs
  • Hands‑on experience with system configuration, customization, and deployment
  • Strong experience with system integration, including APIs, messaging, batch interfaces, and data transformations
  • Strong understanding of data models, relational databases, and data analysis techniques
  • Experience supporting UAT, go‑live, and production support activities, including defect analysis and resolution
  • Awareness of regulatory and operational considerations impacting Securities Finance platforms

Technical Competencies

  • Advanced understanding of system architecture, application design, and integration patterns
  • Experience working with databases, SQL, and data analysis tools
  • Working knowledge of one or more programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, or similar)
  • Familiarity with batch processing, scheduling, and reporting frameworks
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles, including waterfall and agile delivery models
  • Understanding of quality assurance methodologies and testing frameworks
  • Experience working within DevOps-oriented delivery models, supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
    Experience supporting or integrating with automated build, deployment, and release pipelines
  • Ability to work closely with development and DevOps teams to troubleshoot environment, configuration, and deployment issues
  • Understanding of environment management across development, test, UAT, and production landscapes
  • Awareness of infrastructure concepts such as cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, others), containerization, and configuration management as they relate to enterprise financial systems
