Technical Consultant - Cloud Native
Job Description
As a Technology Consultant/Expert, you will serve as a senior technical architect and trusted advisor, leading complex customer engagements focused on designing, deploying, and optimizing solutions built on SUSE technologies. You will be responsible for delivering advanced hands-on technical configurations including automation scripting for example. This role demands a significant understanding of the appropriate segment of the SUSE Portfolio, a deep grasp of complementary technologies, and the ability to influence and guide both customers and internal teams. You will proactively drive customer success, lead scoping activities for large-scale projects, and champion customer needs within product development, showcasing excellent Stakeholder Management and Technical Architecture capabilities.
How You’ll Contribute
Act as a technical architect for SUSE technologies, providing strategic guidance and expertise to customers.
Work with customers to design and deploy solutions based on SUSE technologies, ensuring their successful implementation.
Carry out advanced hands-on configuration and coding activities as required to address customer requirements
Maintain an advanced-level understanding of the SUSE portfolio of products, staying current with new releases and features.
Possess a significant understanding of complementary technologies, such as other distributions of Linux, Kubernetes, etc., leveraging this knowledge to provide comprehensive solutions.
Provide Scoping activity for all engagement types, including large-scale and complex customer use cases, demonstrating expertise in Scoping Activity.
Able to demonstrate the impact and articulate the benefits of SUSE technologies for users as it relates to their specific use case. Your Communication Skills will be crucial in conveying this value.
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with users and establish contact with their management as required, showcasing strong Relationship Building.
Own entire customer engagement, ensuring successful project delivery and customer satisfaction (scope and timeline). This highlights your expertise in Customer Engagement.
Provide internal feedback and make constructive suggestions to improve Services offerings, contributing to Process Improvement.
Provide leadership and channel feedback throughout the lifecycle of customer engagements.
Understand feature requests and advocate for customers and users with Product Management and/or Engineering, influencing product development.
Work with existing customers to improve customer satisfaction, actively driving positive outcomes.
Work effectively in a proactive manner with both customers and colleagues, including working across Regions, e.g., to share Best Practices and foster Teamwork.
Assist with effective mentorship to new joiners and/or more junior team members, demonstrating your Mentoring capabilities.
Demonstrate extensive customer service and communication skills at all levels, ensuring clear and effective interactions.
Proactively seek feedback and utilize it to develop new skills and/or strengthen existing skills, embodying a Growth Mindset.
Skills Required
Automation Scripting: Proven experience in developing and implementing automation scripts for system configurations and deployments.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Complementary Technologies: Strong understanding of related open source and cloud-native technologies (e.g., other Linux distributions, Kubernetes).
Customer Engagement: Expert ability to manage and lead customer engagements from initiation to completion.
Mentoring: Experience in guiding and developing less experienced technical professionals.
Product Portfolio Knowledge: Advanced understanding of a range of SUSE's products and solutions portfolio.
Relationship Building: Strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
Scoping Activity: Proficient in leading scoping activities for various engagement types, including large and complex use cases.
Solution Deployment: Advanced expertise in deploying SUSE solutions.
Solution Design: Strong ability to design robust solutions based on customer requirements.
Solution Optimization: Proven skills in optimizing deployed solutions for performance and efficiency.
Stakeholder Management: Skilled in managing expectations and relationships with various stakeholders, internal and external.
Teamwork: Strong collaborative skills, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Technical Architecture: Advanced ability to design and implement technical architectures using SUSE technologies.
