Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Configuration Engineer with a strong background in Building Management Systems (BMS), Smart Spaces, IoT, and technical system configuration to support a large-scale IoT implementation project for Pfizer.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kode OS configuration, familiarity with Nook, and a strong understanding of integrating building systems, data sources, and energy-management technologies. This role will be primarily remote but will require occasional travel to customer sites to support installations, troubleshooting, and implementation activities.
- Perform Kode OS per-site configuration in support of Smart Spaces and IoT implementations.
- Provide on-site support for Nook installations, including installation coordination, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Configure and onboard building data sources, including source backfill and historical data configuration.
- Support On → Energy module integration and related building/energy data configurations.
- Perform Tier-2 troubleshooting for technical and system configuration issues.
- Design and implement workarounds for landlord Building Management System (BMS) limitations or integration challenges.
- Validate data connectivity, configuration, and system functionality across building systems and IoT platforms.
- Collaborate with technical teams, building stakeholders, landlords, vendors, and project teams to resolve implementation issues.
- Participate in on-site activities as needed, including system deployments, troubleshooting, and validation.
- Document configurations, technical issues, resolutions, and implementation procedures.
- Support the successful deployment and ongoing operation of Smart Spaces and IoT solutions across customer sites.
- 5+ years of technical configuration, systems integration, building technology, IoT, or related experience.
- Hands-on experience with Kode OS per-site configuration.
- Working knowledge of Nook and/or experience supporting Nook installations.
- Strong overall experience with technical system configuration and implementation.
- Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) or building automation technologies.
- Experience with IoT implementations, connected building technologies, or Smart Spaces.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop practical integration workarounds.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment while collaborating with distributed technical teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments.
- Experience integrating building systems with energy-management platforms or modules.
- Familiarity with building data acquisition, source onboarding, historical data backfill, and system integrations.
- Experience working with landlord-managed BMS environments.
- Experience supporting IoT implementations across multiple physical locations.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments is a plus.
