Let's start with the role
The Technical Compliance Team Leader, as part of the Compliance team, acts as a bridge between Compliance, Business and Technology, ensuring regulations are interpreted into customer- and business-friendly technical requirements. More importantly, they lead a team of Technical Compliance Analysts, and oversee the entire Americas geography covering 8+ jurisdictions. This role reports directly to the Senior Head of Technical Compliance.
As a Technical Compliance Team Leader, you will:
- Participate in Compliance team meetings and facilitate the interpretation of technical guidelines introduced by regulators;
- Manage a local team of Senior Technical Compliance Analysts;
- Partner with business stakeholders to explain compliance-related obligations and how these can be interpreted into business-friendly requirements;
- Create technical requirements based on regulatory text, and guide the team with templates and examples;
- Train internal engineers on regulatory requirements and support compliance officers in licensing projects;
- Assist tech teams in understanding the regulatory requirements and propose workarounds where appropriate;
- Liaise with the Senior Head of Technical Compliance on finding clever solutions to deliver business value to complex regulatory problems;
- Facilitate the interpretation of technical guidelines introduced by regulators and provide the technical requirements;
- Coordinate certifications required by regulations with international testing labs;
- Lead the homologation process with regulatory bodies for new and existing markets.
What you’ll bring
- 2+ (ideally 4+) years of people management experience;
- 2+ (ideally 3+) of experience in the online gaming industry;
- Proven experience as a Software or Database Engineer, Product Owner, Product Manager or QA;
- Basic SQL Server query skills;
- Analytical skills and Project management capabilities;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
