Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to join our thriving Data & AI practice. As part of this role, you will work hand in hand with data engineers, architects and visualisation developers to design and deliver data products that support our clients ongoing success.

The successful applicant will be a data specialist capable of assessing the current landscape within client organisations, understanding their needs and defining solutions to meet their requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Capture the detailed data ecosystem for complex organisations and present this in a clear and concise manner
  • Develop a deep understanding of data ecosystem within our clients to influence business decisions and support impactful outcomes
  • Evaluate the maturity and suitability of solutions, assessing risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Use knowledge of tools, systems and technology to refine proposed solutions and ensure they meet the needs of our clients
  • Understand and articulate detailed business logic within a given data ecosystem to a wider, less-technical audience
  • Consolidate and translate requirements into high-quality documentation (Business Requirement Documents, process maps, data dictionaries, etc.)
  • Provide input into user stories to drive detailed understanding of the business need and value creation
  • Assist with prioritisation of product backlogs to ensure features are prioritised correctly and meet customer needs
  • Work closely with clients and project teams to ensure data assets are actively adopted by end users to maximise client value and drive business activation

About you

  • Experienced working as a Data Business Analyst or Data Solution Lead in a highly complex, data led environment
  • Able to articulate ideas to both to business and technical audiences
  • Able to read and write SQL, understand data models, and explain system behaviours
  • Background in data design, development or analysis teams using SQL skills to ratify assumptions
  • High level of curiosity to understand a business and the way in which it operates
  • Capable of quickly understanding client context and demonstrating expertise in their business
  • A relationship builder, with the ability to motivate and engage effectively to build trust with clients & colleagues
  • Enjoy hands on exploration of data using core SQL skills and able to refine it into simple yet elegant insights

Knowledge and experience of the following would be advantageous:  

  • Experience in telecommunications, healthcare, or financial services - advantageous but not essential if you can demonstrate applicable skills across industries
