Purpose
• The Technical assistant has the responsibility to support the Vessel Management within a ship group 
headed by a team senior vessel manager.
Interrelations
• The Technical Assistant reports to team senior vessel manager.
• For supporting ship management functions, the Technical assistant also interrelates with: All other 
internal and external support functions as required. 
Formal authorities
• Direct communication with regards to: Vessel Technical data statistic, Maintenance of Technical 
department's Documentation / Filing Systems in the office. Repair spec/order follow-up (vessel, 
contractor and supplier) 
Main responsibilities
• Technical assistant is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient and environment conscious 
operation of the vessels assigned as guided by the technical department. 
He / She shall further:
• Give support on matters related to technical operations as required.
• Keep technical library updated and in good order.
• Support in preparation SMS documents for new takeover vessel and necessary follow-up for 
handover.
• Maintain and archive up-to-date of vessel filing system in share point (Data statistics, Update latest 
version Vessel Certificates, Reports with SMS compliance, Correspondence, particulars, etc.) 
• Support in Monitoring Vessels PMS in BASSnet Maintenance monthly. 
• Follow-up with on the Purchase Order and invoices.
• Support Vessel Managers on Vessel repair spec process. 
• Close follow-up and keep record for service reports & certificates of each service and save all relevant 
documents in share point. 
• Process service invoices for vessels as specified. 
• Check all vessel position by compiling position report from vessels and email to agreed people.
• Handle and/or distribute in-coming/out-going mails to vessel and owner-related.
• Preparing CDs/DVDs for vessel distribution as/when required. 
• Vendor management (New vendor register & Update list in share point
• Assist Vessel Managers with dry-docking preparation/specification during Dry-Docking.
• Understand the targets in WSM AOP and contribute towards achieving the projected targets.
• Give support to other Vessel Manager Process involvement as required.
• Carry out any other instructions/tasks as/when assigned by Fleet Manager/Vessel Manager/Marine 
Manager 
• Support for vessels' common issue.
• PSC database management & monitoring rectification status.
• Support for Planned Maintenance System implementation.
• Support for preparation of Owner's requirements.
 
Others
• Carry out any other instructions as and when assigned by superior (ad-hoc issues).

• Closed action items as required by relevant parties. 
• Compliance of routine and plan. 
• Safe and efficient work without issues. 
• Execution of reliability plan. 
Qualifications
Mandatory requirements
• College Graduate
Additional preferences
• Good command of oral and written English. 
• Proficiency in working knowledge of computers
• Environmental focused 
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Good interpersonal skills in order to develop close relationships with shipboard staff as well as internal 
and external support functions
