Technical Assistant - Test & Lab Operations

Digantara is looking for a passionate Lead-FPGA/RTL Design engineer to develop reliable, robust and reusable RTL modules for satellite payload, which is capable of image acquisition and edge processing, aimed at Space Situational Awareness (SSA). The Lead engineer will be responsible for mentoring a team of RTL design engineers.

Someone organised and technically literate who keeps an integration and test lab running - GSE where it should be, calibration in date, configuration recorded, vendor commitments tracked and chased. Suits a diploma or degree holder with 0 to 3 years of experience. 

• Maintain the electronics lab and GSE inventory: asset register, location tracking, issue and return of instruments, cables, and tooling, and periodic stock verification. 

• Maintain the checkout system configuration record - instruments, modules, cables, firmware and software versions in each configuration - and log every change, including vendor module swaps, upgrades, and software releases. 

• Track vendor commitments and interactions: support cases, service visits, response times against the support agreement, warranty status, spares holding, and training entitlements, and follow each to closure. 

• Own the calibration schedule: track due dates across in-house and vendor-supplied equipment, coordinate with calibration vendors, file certificates, and prevent out-of-calibration equipment from reaching a test setup. 

• Manage consumables and lab supplies: monitor stock, raise purchase requests, follow up with suppliers, and verify incoming items against the order. 

• Maintain ESD-safe workstations and ESD verification records, and keep lab and cleanroom areas to the required housekeeping and FOD standard. 

• Support packing, shipping, and receiving of hardware and GSE, including import documentation and condition checks on receipt. 

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation, or a relevant technical discipline. 

• 0 to 3 years of experience in a laboratory, production, quality, or stores environment; freshers with strong organisational ability will be considered. 

• Working knowledge of common lab instruments and their use, sufficient to handle, issue, and track them correctly. 

• Proficiency with spreadsheets and documentation tools for tracking inventory, schedules, configuration, and records. 

• Accuracy and discipline in record-keeping, including document revision control and completeness of filed evidence. 

• Ability to follow defined processes consistently and flag exceptions rather than resolve them informally. 

• Willingness to chase suppliers and vendors for commitments and escalate when responses slip. 

• Exposure to calibration management, ISO 9001 or AS9100 documentation practice, or an equivalent quality system. 

• Exposure to configuration management or change control in a technical environment. 

• Experience with inventory or asset management software, or an ERP system. 

• Experience coordinating with vendors or logistics providers, including import shipments and service or support contracts. 

• Awareness of ESD control, FOD control, and cleanroom protocols. 

• Basic hands-on ability with cable assembly, labelling, or soldering. 

• Ability to work in a mission-focused, operational environment. 

• Ability to priorities across competing requests and keep commitments visible. 

• Interpersonal skills to enable working in a diverse and dynamic team. 

• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule. 

• Verbal and written communications skills as well as organizational skills. 

• Travel occasionally as necessary.
