The Technical Application Specialist (TAS) for Leica Biosystems is responsible for product validation, clinical evidence generation, and supporting the achievement of growth targets for Core Histology consumables.  Additionally, the TAS role provides customer support for technical applications involving the use of CHC products, and for product training of external and internal customers including Marketing, Sales and Field Applications.  

This position is part of Global Product Management/Marketing located in Richmond, Illinois and will be onsite. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be part of the product management/marketing team and report to the Technical Applications Manager responsible for the Technical Applications team. If you thrive in a multifunctional role and want to work to build a world-class product management/marketing organization - read on. 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support new product development and design changes by performing internal validation studies and new product launch training.

  • Provide technical support to customers regarding uses of Core Histology Consumable products.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve customer complaints/product issues.

  • Provide histology training and product training to sales and other internal customers and develop and provide presentations for product-oriented workshops/seminars.

  • Develop and execute clinical evidence studies to support product claims and marketing collateral.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BA/BS degree in chemical or biological sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience and knowledge of the theories and principles of laboratory science, preferably Histology. 
  • 10- 20% travel (domestic and global)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Graduate degree in chemical or biological sciences, or related field
  • Previous experience as a Histotechnician or in Histology research, including HT or HTL certification
  • Knowledge of laboratory validation and CAP requirement in clinical histology environments

The salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $110,000.00. This range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for a bonus/incentive pay.
