Job Summary
The Technical Analyst (LNG) is responsible for supporting and enhancing LNG commercial application workflows across the company’s trading operations. This role focuses on configuring and operating systems that support LNG trading, risk management, scheduling, logistics, and commercial processes across the front-to-back lifecycle.The position partners closely with trading, risk, scheduling, and operations teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions supporting LNG deal capture, contract management, nominations, cargo movements, and settlements. The role requires hands-on experience working with ETRM and LNG trading systems, supporting system changes, and ensuring stability and accuracy across production environments.
Position Overview
Responsibilities include:
- Configure and maintain LNG commercial application workflows supporting trading, risk, scheduling, and logistics processes.
- Support end-to-end LNG trading lifecycle processes, including deal capture, contract management, nominations, cargo scheduling, invoicing, and settlements.
- Translate business and operational requirements into system configurations and workflow enhancements.
- Execute system changes, enhancements, and configuration updates across ETRM and LNG trading platforms.
- Partner with traders, schedulers, risk, and operations teams to improve system functionality and user workflows.
- Collaborate with global Commercial and Marine IT teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, compliance standards, and business goals.
- Support integrations between LNG trading systems, ETRM platforms, and upstream/downstream applications.
- Coordinate and support testing activities, including system testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Monitor system performance and support production environments, ensuring reliability and timely issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across LNG trading, logistics, and risk systems. Collaborate with LNG business to understand and drive data strategy including data management, data reporting, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision making.
- Maintain documentation for system workflows, configurations, and operational processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across LNG systems, including process optimization and automation initiatives.
- Ensure data integrity, audit readiness, and compliance with market regulations and regulatory reporting frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience in technical analysis, production support, or system configuration within LNG or commodities trading environments.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other related business or technical field or foreign equivalent.
- Advanced level of understanding of LNG value chain, trading workflows, including deal capture, scheduling, nominations, logistics, invoicing, and settlements.
- Advanced level of proficiency in LNG Pricing and Risk, experience in supporting valuation processes, market data integration, MTM calculations, and risk analysis, enabling informed decision-making for trading and commercial teams.
- Advanced level of proficiency working with ETRM systems such as OpenLink Endur, Planlogic EOS, RightAngle, or similar platforms for physical and financial LNG.
- 5 or more years of experience configuring systems, supporting workflows, and delivering functional enhancements.
- Advanced level of proficiency supporting testing processes, including UAT coordination and validation.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with system integrations, APIs, and data flows across trading and logistics systems, as well as regulatory reporting (e.g. REMIT). 5 or more years of experience supporting production systems in fast-paced trading environments.
- 3 or more years of experience working in trading, risk, scheduling, and operations teams.
