Technical Analyst – Cards Onboarding (CORE)

The Role
The Card business unit is Onafriq’s home for innovation. It identifies, incubates, and realizes new products and synergies between the various Onafriq group companies. It creates an in-house space for driving innovation and nurturing our next-gen products.
As Technical Analyst, you will work within the Onboarding Cards team and deliver tasks with support from product, development and operation teams to accomplish partner integrations in order for prepaid programs to launch in market. You will take partner requirements and align them to our available web services while understanding the intricates of the prepaid card processing system. This position requires detailed attention to execute the product vision. It will require careful thought on ensuring a successful product launch by focusing on critical areas such as internal communication and web service testing & troubleshooting. A solid technical understanding of software development, especially SOAP and RESTful API web services, agile project management, and digital payments will be advantageous.
The position will be based in approved African countries. Familiarity with and experience in Africa is a plus, as is previous experience in working for an international organization with teams across multiple time zones.
Responsibilities
- Discuss prepaid program functionality with external partners to understand requirements
- Maintain detailed understanding of API web services
- Monthly reporting on deliverables to various levels of the organization
- Create various business requirement documents that are organized and easy for the external partners to utilize during their integration setup, testing and app design
- Participate in and assist quality assurance of applications
- Provide recommendations and specifications to refine business processes, as needed, to achieve a positive impact
- Track features and tasks in Jira software
- Understand customer pain points and coordinate feedback to the product team
- Collaborate with the product team to define evolving prepaid product requirements from partners
- Assure compliance with Onafriq and Payment Card Industry policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
- Own and develop relationships with partners, working with them to optimize and enhance integrations
- Assist with any other ad-hoc tasks as required to see through a prepaid program market launch
Essential Skills
- Passionate about system design, consistency, and high-quality documentation
- Knowledge in API web service fundamentals with experience using PostMan and SOAP UI; StopLight experience a bonus
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to share information in a meaningful way
- Fast learner with strong problem-solving skills
- Can work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or related field
- 4+ years of direct work experience as a technical analyst, product analyst, or relevant technical experience
- Demonstrated insight and experience in complex integration investigation
- Passionate about system design, consistency, and high-quality documentation
- Familiar with project management
- Experience with technical projects, not necessarily software but pervious software experience will be a bonus.
- Excellent customer service attitude, good communications skills (both verbal and written), good organizational skills and the ability to cope with and manage a constantly changing environment
