Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to build and lead the technical accounting function, reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Accounting. This role will serve as the subject matter expert on complex areas such as revenue recognition, purchase accounting, equity and debt, stock-based compensation, and impairment testing. The ideal candidate will also drive cross-functional initiatives, including M&A, system implementations, and other strategic projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • lead all the technical accounting, revenue accounting, and internal controls.
  • Being the subject matter expert in revenue accounting, purchase accounting, pension accounting, stock-based compensation, 409A valuation, equity accounting, debt accounting, goodwill and intangible asset impairment testing, R&D capitalization, and other non-routine and complex transactions; independently research technical accounting topics and prepare whitepapers.
  • Lead and drive the enhancement of global accounting policies; collaborate with cross functional teams and business owners to implement new accounting policies and procedures.
  • Lead the preparation of US GAAP consolidated financial statements and footnotes.
  • Lead operational process audit, on a need basis; drive the enhancement of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (“ICFR”).
  • Oversee the revenue accounting close and support other accounting close activities, as needed.
  • Support the annual audit of consolidated financial statements under US GAAP and statutory audit of the Switzerland holding company.
  • Liaise with the global tax manager to support US GAAP income tax reporting and provision.
  • Be the backup for team members, as needed.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects (e.g. M&A due diligence, M&A integration, system implementation, tax audit, financing, etc.) for the Finance organization as needed.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a complex global environment.
  • At least 3 years of public accounting experience in major accounting firms required.
  • Candidates straight out of Big 4 preferred.
  • NetSuite (Oracle) experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Thrive in a global fast-paced and dynamic environment, comfortable working with multi-cultural teams in different countries.
  • Independent, analytical. And a good problem solver.
  • Hands on, detail-oriented, organized, and structured. Can step up to be a reviewer and step in to be a preparer whenever needed.
