Purpose and Job Summary:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of technical accounting for OCU and subsidiaries. This includes responsibility for accounting research as it relates to transactions (including acquisitions and divestitures), new accounting guidance, and ensuring that accounting guidance/reporting requirements are appropriately applied for new transactions
- Responsible for Accounting Policy
- Coordinate with satellite offices to ensure consistent conclusions with regards to technical accounting and review any memos prepared by those teams
- Ability to work with external and internal auditors on financial service related accounting issues/questions
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Education, Skills and Experience:
Required:
- 6-10 years of overall accounting and reporting experience
- Experience in public accounting (“Big 4” strongly preferred)
- CPA
- Deep understanding of US GAAP technical accounting (experience with CECL, Goodwill, Consolidation, Transfers, Derivatives, etc.)
- Current or prior experience in regards to participation of timely and accurate reporting and financial statement preparation under US GAAP and for a subsidiary of an SEC registrant a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from accredited four-year university
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; strong analytical skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines; Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines; Ability to adjust priorities in a rapidly changing environment
Preferred:
- IFRS technical accounting experience
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Advanced degree
