German-speaking Technical Account Manager – Linux & Cloud Infrastructure
Location: Remote working from home, open to candidates in Europe
Language requirement: Fluent German and English
Team: Technical Account Management
About Virtuozzo
Virtuozzo is a leader in infrastructure software and services for AI and the cloud. The company offers a next-generation OS, orchestration, management, automation, and protection for cloud service providers, SaaS, AI, and the enterprise. Virtuozzo provides mainframe-like efficiency, reliability, and versatility while dramatically lowering cost and complexity. We combine deep engineering expertise with a strong focus on performance, scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.
The role
Virtuozzo is looking for a German-speaking Technical Account Manager to represent strategic customers running business-critical Linux and cloud infrastructure.
You will be the customer’s technical advocate inside Virtuozzo. When a serious incident or recurring technical problem requires involvement from several teams, you will make sure the customer’s environment, impact and priorities are clearly understood by Support, Engineering and Product. You will coordinate the response, maintain clear communication and drive agreed actions through to closure.
This is not a commercial account-management position. You will not carry a sales quota or own renewals. It is also not a frontline support role. Support engineers own day-to-day ticket investigation and resolution. You provide customer context, technical judgement, escalation leadership and cross-team coordination when an issue requires greater attention. Outside active incidents, you will help customers identify risks, plan upgrades and improve the stability of their Virtuozzo environments.
What you will do
- Build a detailed understanding of each customer’s infrastructure, priorities and operational risks.
- Represent the customer during technical discussions with Support, Engineering and Product.
- Coordinate high-impact incidents and escalations, ensuring clear ownership, priority and communication.
- Translate technical issues and business impact into actionable information for internal teams.
- Follow root-cause investigations and corrective actions through to completion.
- Review recurring incidents and platform risks to help prevent future disruption.
- Support infrastructure health reviews, upgrade planning and readiness assessments.
- Provide customers with concise updates, recommendations and technical reports.
What we are looking for
- Fluent German for technical customer discussions and strong working English.
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Technical Account Manager, senior support engineer, infrastructure consultant, systems engineer or technical service-delivery specialist.
- Strong practical understanding of Linux and production infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of at least two of the following: virtualization, networking, storage, Kubernetes, OpenStack, clustering or high availability.
- Experience coordinating incidents, escalations or root-cause investigations across several teams.
- The ability to explain complex technical situations clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong ownership, sound judgment and consistent follow-through.
Useful additional experience
- Virtuozzo, OpenVZ, KVM, OpenStack, Kubernetes, VMware or comparable platforms.
- Hosting providers, cloud service providers, managed service providers or telecom infrastructure.
- Infrastructure monitoring, performance analysis, upgrades or capacity planning.
What We Offer
- Remote work from Europe (open to hiring contractors in Serbia, Romania, Turkey, Poland, Bulgaria, etc.).
- Flexible working hours.
- High ownership and visibility.
- A distributed international team.
- Support for private medical insurance, depending on location.
- Additional perks depending on country, location, residency, and seniority.
- Referral bonuses.
- Other recognition programmes and rewards.
Skills Required
- Strong experience in technical customer-facing roles (Technical Account Management, infrastructure consulting, solutions architecture, senior support engineering, service delivery)
- Professional fluency in German and English (oral and written)
- Strong knowledge of Linux-based infrastructure and enterprise or service-provider environments
- Understanding of virtualization, cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, clustering, high availability, and distributed systems
- Experience supporting production environments where uptime, performance, stability, and risk management are critical
- Experience coordinating escalations and working across support, engineering, product, and operations teams
- Knowledge of incident management, root cause analysis, upgrade planning, change management, and problem prevention
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify patterns across incidents, alerts, configurations, and operational data
- Confidence communicating with both technical specialists and senior customer stakeholders
- Strong ownership, organization, prioritization, follow-through, and clear documentation/reporting skills
- Proactive mindset focused on improving customer infrastructure rather than only resolving individual issues
- Experience with Virtuozzo, OpenVZ, KVM, Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMware
- RedHat or similar certification
- Experience supporting hosting providers, cloud service providers, managed service providers, telecoms, or enterprise infrastructure teams
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, capacity planning, performance analysis, and availability management
- Experience demonstrating business value of technical work (prevented downtime, reduced risk, operational savings)
