Job DetailsWe are looking for curious, analytical, and forward-thinking problem-solvers to join our Subsurface Imaging team at Viridien in a permanent, full-time role as part of our Tech Talent Program 2026.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of physics, mathematics, geophysics, and technology to solve complex challenges in seismic imaging. Working alongside experienced geophysicists, scientists, researchers, and software engineers, you will contribute to cutting-edge projects that advance how we image and understand the Earth's subsurface.
You will learn how to transform large-scale seismic datasets into high-resolution 3D subsurface models using advanced imaging techniques and high-performance computing. Through structured onboarding, technical training, and ongoing mentorship, you will develop the skills needed to contribute to both research-driven innovation and real-world geophysical applications.
In this role, you will:Apply principles of physics, mathematics, and geophysics to challenging seismic imaging problems.
Develop, test, and apply advanced seismic processing and imaging techniques.
Use high-performance computing (HPC) and large-scale datasets to solve computationally intensive geophysical problems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and improve algorithms, software tools, and technical workflows.
Work closely with Research and Software Development teams to translate scientific ideas into scalable technologies.
Analyze results, communicate technical findings, and contribute to the continuous improvement of imaging methods and workflows.
Have opportunities to contribute to scientific publications, present your work, and engage with the wider geophysical and scientific community.
You will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team working on real-world challenges in subsurface imaging.

QualificationsMaster's or PhD degree in Geophysics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Programming or scientific computing experience; knowledge of Python, C++, MATLAB, or similar languages is an advantage.
Interest or experience in areas such as numerical methods, signal processing, optimization, machine learning, seismic processing/imaging, or high-performance computing is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
