Job Summary: 

Why this role matters

As a Tech Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining the stability, availability, and performance of our critical systems and platforms. Working closely with senior engineers, you’ll help monitor environments, resolve incidents, and ensure smooth operations across Beyond ONE’s digital services. 

You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern tools, cloud environments, and DevOps practices while contributing to scalable, resilient systems that power millions of customers globally. 

What success looks like

  • Within your first year, you will confidently handle operational incidents and assist in maintaining uptime and performance SLAs. 
  • You will contribute to improved system monitoring and automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. 
  • You will actively update runbooks, knowledge bases, and post-incident documentation, helping strengthen our operational maturity.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will: 

  • Monitor system, application, and infrastructure health using defined tools and processes. 
  • Investigate, respond to, and escalate incidents following defined SLAs and escalation paths. 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Support teams to resolve platform issues. 
  • Execute change requests and deployments across QA, staging, and production environments under supervision. 
  • Contribute to internal documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides. 
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours support rotation as required. 
  • Support both cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-premises systems operations. 
  • Work with containerised environments (Docker) and assist the team managing Kubernetes clusters. 
  • Operate CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI) for deployments and integrations. 
  • Use monitoring tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic) and logging systems (e.g. ELK) to identify and address performance issues. 
  • Write and maintain small automation scripts (Bash, PowerShell, Python) to streamline operational tasks. 
  • Follow defined security, compliance, and network configuration processes (firewalls, VPNs, ISO/PCI standards). 

Qualifications & Attributes

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 

 

Experience

  • 1–3 years of experience in technical operations, system support, or DevOps-related roles, ideally in telco, fintech, or other regulated industries. 

Technical Skills

Must-Haves 

  • Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows server environments. 
  • Basic database skills (SQL, PostgreSQL, or similar) for troubleshooting and reporting. 
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure. 
  • Experience with Docker and exposure to Kubernetes. 
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI). 
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack, or similar). 
  • Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell). 
  • Awareness of network fundamentals and security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, load balancing).  

Nice-to-Haves

  • Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible). 
  • Awareness of ITIL or similar service management frameworks. 
  • Experience using Confluence or Git-based documentation systems.
