We
are seeking, on behalf of our client, a (Tech Lead).
Responsibilities:
- Design and
implement the matching engine and geospatial queries.
- Build and
maintain the driver's wallet as a double-entry ledger.
- Architect
and implement distributed trip state machines across apps and backend.
- Set up and
manage real-time infrastructure (channels, auth, presence).
- Oversee
deployments, observability, telemetry, and on-call practices.
- Lead code
reviews, mentor engineers, and makes long-term architectural decisions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including systems with
money flows, state machines, or real-time coordination.
- Strong relational database expertise (transactions, indexing, query
optimization).
- Experience with realtime systems (WebSockets, pub/sub,
channel-based architectures).
- Strong engineering judgment in typed languages (TypeScript, Java,
Go, Kotlin, etc.).
- Proven track record of leading small teams technically.
- Comfortable with operational responsibilities (deployments,
observability, incident response).
- Working English; Arabic is a strong plus.
- Experience stack: TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, PostgreSQL/PostGIS,
Ably, React Native/Expo.
- Background in ride-hailing, logistics, marketplaces, or fintech.
- Experience with self-hosted infrastructure (Docker, Hetzner).
- Familiarity with offline-first systems and the Libyan market.
