NN Digital Hub is a subsidiary company of Nationale Nederlanden Group located in Madrid, Spain. We deliver IT services and solutions for the different international Business Units from Nationale Nederlanden Group.
Our objective is to create, deliver and maintain insurance product management solutions, as service propositions to enable any agent (linked or direct), machine or company to create and sell insurance products in Europe in an automated way and real time.
The Data Platform team builds and maintains the foundational data products and services that power analytics across NN for the NNDAP and DataLab.
What you are going to do:Guide the team into technical direction/implementation for NNDAP and NN Data Lab as platformed services.
For NNDAP, define & evolve the shared minimal core and the optional expanded core so BUs get a paved road for compliant, performant lakehouse deployments that facilitate BU specific‑ extensions.
For NN Data Lab, deliver a fully managed Databricks deployment for non-IT users that are trained to be data-driven.
Design & build on Azure + Databricks: lead reference implementations for ADLS/Delta Lake, Databricks (including SQL warehouses), ADF, and supporting IaC patterns; codify best practices for medallion layers (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
Evolve reusable data capabilities: progress the metadata/YAML‑driven extraction/ingestion components, orchestrations, quality, monitoring and LCM; guide contributions from BU engineers via our inner‑source model.
Raise the engineering bar: define quality gates, CI/CD standards, automated tests, and smoke checks at platform level; mentor engineers across squads and BU communities (Data Engineering Guild).
Security & governance by design: embed Unity Catalog and align with NN governance (e.g., Collibra), bringing ABAC/RBAC concepts into platform defaults and patterns.
Shepherd migrations & adoption: partner with BU platform teams (NL & International) to onboard/migrate to NNDAP, close gaps pragmatically, and contribute learnings into the product roadmap and boards.
Plan for what’s next: help prepare NNDAP for API‑exposed data products and more operational/AI‑agent scenarios (resilience, availability) where relevant.
You’ll be a senior technical leader in the NNDAP product team, collaborating with a Product Owner, Platform/Domain Architects, and platform engineers. The team ships on Azure with Databricks and ADF, applies inner‑sourcing practices, and engages a PO/Product Board to align priorities with BU data platform leads.
