We're Proof, a high growth company in the legal tech industry founded in 2017. We've built a best-in-class legal services platform used by thousands of law firms with a sustained average growth rate of over 10%. Our marketplace platform helps law firms and pro se parties access more efficient, transparent, and accessible legal services that are not traditionally available to everyone. Our primary services are Service of Process and E-Filing. We currently support over 3,000 law firms throughout the US and countless pro se parties.
We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where access to legal services is readily available, affordable, and efficient. Work with us if you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit to achieve the fundamental change in an outdated industry.
About the RoleProof is a fast-growing scale-up at the forefront of legal technology, offering a best-in-class platform trusted by thousands of law firms across the U.S. With rapid growth and expansion, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Tech Lead Manager (TLM) to lead post-merger engineering integrations and help us scale our platform.
We integrate newly acquired companies into a unified platform and operating model. You will lead a small, full stack team that delivers company-level integrations end to end: systems and services, data migration, identity/SSO, API harmonization, billing and reporting alignment, compliance, observability, and change management. You will partner closely with a Product Manager, contribute code, and manage the team.
What You’ll Do- Own company-level technical integration. Lead the integration of an acquired company’s systems into Proof’s platform and operating model, including discovery, architecture, data migration, identity/SSO, API and service consolidation, coexistence and deprecation plans, and Day-1 through cutover execution.
- Partner across functions. Work with Product, Security/Compliance, Data, Customer Success, Operations, and our M&A integration leads to plan workstreams, set milestones and success metrics, surface risks, and unblock decisions.
- Co-own planning with the Product Manager. Shape the integration roadmap, scope, estimates, capacity planning, and release milestones together; translate customer and stakeholder input into a sequenced backlog.
- Customer and stakeholder meetings. Meet in person with customers and with stakeholders at acquired companies to validate requirements, run pilots/UAT, and guide cutovers.
- Lead and manage a team of roughly 4 developers. Run 1:1s, set expectations, give feedback, support growth, and handle performance conversations and hiring.
- Establish and maintain quality expectations for integrated systems, including reliability targets/SLOs, incident response expectations, and code quality standards.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal stakeholders; align milestones, communicate risks, and remove blockers.
- Run an effective remote team. The team is remote, but you should expect to be in our Detroit location a few times per month for alignment, onboarding, and whiteboarding when needed.
- Experience as a Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or Tech Lead Manager for a small team. You have directly managed engineers and also provided architectural direction. Tech leads typically guide technical decisions and unblock teammates, while engineering managers focus on people, delivery, and alignment with the business. A Tech Lead Manager role blends both.
- Experience integrating products, platforms, or services after a company acquisition or major partnership. You understand concepts like Day-1 readiness, data migration, coexistence periods, and cutover planning.
- Full stack depth. Comfortable reviewing work across backend services, APIs, data flows, and the web application layer. Experience with Go and React is a plus.
- Strong customer presence. You can meet a client face to face, map their needs to technical plans, explain constraints without jargon, and build trust.
- High-signal communication in a remote environment. You write clearly, keep stakeholders unblocked, and run a distributed team without chaos.
- A mindset of accountability. You are comfortable being the person of record for delivery, quality, and team health.
- Salary range $170,000 - $200,000 based on experience and location
- Full-time, salary, hybrid position
- Flexible Time off and paid holidays
- Medical, dental, vision, disability, and 401k available
- Necessary equipment provided
- Travel in the United States about two times per quarter for customer and partner work sessions
- In-person collaboration in Detroit a few times per month
