About the role:
As a Team Manager HR Operations, you are responsible for leading and managing an HR operations Team to ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll delivery. You combine deep payroll expertise with people leadership, process ownership and a strong customer focus. Beyond operational excellence, you actively drive continuous improvement, automation and quality enhancement across payroll services

Which tasks can you expect?
Lead the HR Operations Team to deliver high-quality HR outsourcing services in accordance with the scope of the contract and SLAs
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions and tax withholdings
Guarantee compliance with all applicable legal, tax, social security and internal company regulations
Review and approve payroll results to ensure quality, accuracy and deadlines are met
Define team objectives, KPIs and individual development plans
Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews and structured 1:1 discussions
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during payroll audits Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
Analyze payroll data to proactively identify, investigate and resolve errors or discrepancies
Manage vendors and external partners and act as escalation point when required
Organize and support testing activities related to system changes
What do you have to offer?
At least 7 years of solid experience in payroll, ideally within outsourced, shared service or complex organizational environments
Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, team development and performance management
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax and social security regulations
Confident handling of payroll systems and advanced Excel skills
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a completed commercial qualification with relevant professional experience; payroll certification will be a plus
Very good German and good English language skills, both written and spoken
Strong service and customer orientation with a clear commitment to quality and reliability
Ability to actively listen, lead with empathy and support team members in a constructive and respectful way
Strong analytical thinking to assess complex payroll topics, risks and impacts
Solution‑oriented and improvement‑driven mindset when optimizing processes and collaboration
