Team Lead/Senior Software Engineer in Python/PHP/JavaScript

ISS STOXX is actively looking for a Team Lead/Senior Software Engineer in Python/PHP/JavaScript to join the Mumbai Team (Goregaon East).

Overview:

Join our team at ISS STOXX, where you'll be at the forefront of building and maintaining our Rainmaker financial platforms in Australia. As a leading provider of industry-leading financial insights and market intelligence to our SaaS customers in the financial industry, we're committed to driving innovation and excellence. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Rainmaker team, you will be developing new software products and maintaining and enhancing existing web-based products. You will also be responsible for a small group of 2-3 engineers on the team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of 2-3 developers and drive projects independently or in collaboration with other dev teams

• Collaborate with local and global cross-functional teams

• Be responsible for mentorship, career growth, year-end reviews, promotions etc. of the team

• Work with leads to nurture a people-centric culture

• Choose the right frameworks/technologies and write clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code

• Work with the engineering manager and product owner to scope out projects 

• Manage technical debt 

• Mentor and train junior developers and delegate tasks to them 

• Participate in code reviews and manage the code base 

• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team for testing and deployment

• Facilitate agile scrum practices within the team 

• Ensure all processes are followed, and projects are delivered on time 

• Learn and adapt to new technologies, languages, and frameworks

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of relevant work experience in development

• Must have at least 1+ years of experience managing 2-3 developers

• Expertise in Object Oriented Design, Database Design 

• Experience with SQL 

• Experience with interpreted languages like PHP, JavaScript, or Python 

• Experience with a JavaScript framework like React or Angular, is a plus 

• Understanding of software architecture principles

• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies 

• Experience using version control tools (Git/SVN)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Good to have:

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) 

• Experience C#/.NET is an advantage 

• Experience with containerization and micro services architectures is also an advantage 

• Financial industry experience
