We are looking to add a Team Leader to our Midwest Team!
Develops and leads a cross-functional team of up to 15 leasing associates to create and maintain enduring partnerships with a targeted dealer base, to deliver superior customer service, and to reach or exceed the team’s established goals in support of GreatAmerica’s business commitments (e.g. volume, delinquency, and income). This job is performed by a working team member or functional resource and is not intended to be a full-time position.
As a Team Leader, you will:
Acts in accordance with GreatAmerica’s core values, serving as a role model and coach to others.
Creates a team environment conducive to high performance and morale, consistent with GreatAmerica’s principles.
Builds and maintains a strong partnership between the team and its targeted dealers/vendors through intimate knowledge/familiarity and exceptional service.
Coordinates team involvement in the establishment of business goals and provides leadership and support to enable the team to achieve or exceed its goals.
Leads and challenges the team to continuously improve its process efficiency and performance effectiveness.
Provides facilitative leadership to the team to enable efficient and effective decision-making and problem-solving: ensures issues are addressed within the team whenever possible and elevates issues or problems to the appropriate leadership level when necessary.
Serves as a liaison for the team to other teams and to senior leadership, ensuring effective communication, integration and collaboration across boundaries.
Provides timely feedback, performance reviews and developmental coaching to all team members.
Participates in budgeting for the team and assures team budget accountability / adherence.
Continuously develops and empowers the team to increase the team’s maturity and self-management capability, and to decrease the team’s reliance on leaders and outside functional / technical resources.
Performs all “basic” team tasks as appropriate, such as: answers customer service calls, make collections calls, takes and enters credit applications, makes verification calls, etc.
Effective verbal (face-to-face and phone) communication, and consistent on-site attendance, are required to effectively perform these essential duties.
Forecasts team-staffing needs and participates in the final offer with input from the functional resource and Human Resources.
Ensures the team has access to the support and resources needed for success breaks down barriers encountered by the team.
Maintains a current understanding of a variety of team development tools and applies them as appropriate to enable team development and maturity.
As part of the team develop process, ensures adequate cross training and backup capability for all team responsibilities / tasks.
Provides quarterly reviews on team performance and development to senior leadership.
Serves as a resource to the team for the Team Member Improvement Process (TMIP): as a leader, proactively addresses performance or conduct issues in an appropriate and timely manner consistent with TMIP.
Approves non-standard agreements by looking at the whole picture and making decision in the best interest of GreatAmerica (i.e. Acceptance on Docs, Hell or High Water Clauses, 10-Day Letters, etc.)
Performs other duties as assigned (i.e. a Team Leader is also to be a “working team member” and/or a functional resource for the organization in a specified area of expertise).
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Education
Bachelor’s degree
Experience
Minimum of four years of directly related work experience or training. A minimum of four years experience in small ticket leasing is highly desirable. Previous experience in multiple disciplines/functions of the leasing process is also highly desirable.

Must possess strong leadership skills to serve as role model for team and GreatAmerica. Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills are required to interface with all levels of internal and external personnel.
