Job Description
About the Role:We are seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Team Leader to join our growing UK Sales team. Reporting to the Head of Sales UK, you'll be instrumental in developing and guiding our sales professionals. This is a highly hands-on role where you'll not only inspire and lead your team but also directly support them through complex sales cycles, including intricate contract negotiations. How You'll Make an Impact:
Lead and Mentor: Build, lead, and energise a team of sales professionals in achieving revenue targets by successfully selling Checkout.com’s products to UK-based merchants.
Hands-on Support: Provide direct, hands-on support to your team, guiding them through all stages of the sales process, from qualification to closing, with a particular focus on complex contract negotiations.
Expert Guidance: Serve as a subject matter expert, offering advice and practical assistance on sales strategies, product knowledge, and navigating challenging scenarios.
Data-Driven Optimisation: Drive team performance through a metric-driven approach, ensuring effective use of all available sales tools and resources to maximise efficiency and outcomes.
Collaboration and Optimisation: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Underwriting, Legal, Partnerships, Solutions Engineering, Account management, Product, Technology and People to optimise processes, roadmaps, and collaboration to enhance team productivity and effectiveness.
Develop Talent: Be actively involved in the recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of your team members, fostering a high-performing and inclusive environment.
Strategic Contribution: Contribute to key strategic decisions that align with and support Checkout.com’s regional and overall corporate global strategy.
Operational Excellence: Implement the necessary structure, cadence, quality, and discipline to cultivate a professional, scalable, and world-class commercial capability within your team.
Demonstrated People Leadership: A proven track record of inspiring, leading, and developing sales professionals, ideally managing a B2B Enterprise sales team. You have demonstrated you can set a clear vision and empower your team to achieve it. You have proven experience leading a successful sales organization for an enterprise business.
Hands-on Sales Expertise: Experience being close to the detail in sales processes, with the ability to provide direct support and guidance, including experience with complex contract negotiations.
Commercial Acumen: Strong experience and credibility in building valuable relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers in enterprise businesses. A solid understanding of financial acumen and analytical skills, with a structured, data-driven approach to problem-solving.
Adaptability and Growth Mindset: Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments, comfortable with ambiguity and change. Intellectually curious and eager to learn, with a passion for the FinTech sector.
Strategic Thinker with Practical Application: Ability to think strategically while also adopting a hands-on approach when needed, and adept at driving prioritisation across an evolving product portfolio.
Collaborative Spirit: Highly effective at cross-functional stakeholder management and a strong, credible contributor to decision-making processes.
Excellent Communicator: An engaging communicator with the ability to present a vision and gain buy-in from internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
