What we need
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Document Control Team Lead to work within our Engineering Services organization in support of new product introduction, change management, and volume manufacturing. As the Symbotic Document Control Team Lead, you will lead a team of Document Control Specialists and coordinate problem solving and process improvement activities related to document and change control, while also helping out in the day to day when necessary. To be successful, you will need to listen to your peers and customers, pull and dive into metrics, work cross-functionally and make your stakeholders part of solution development, and provide intelligent support based on experience and knowledge of PLM and system capabilities - with a bias for action and focus on bringing projects to complete successfully.
What we do
The Engineering Services team is part of the Hardware Org which is responsible for Mechanical, Structural, and Electrical Engineering of the Symbot and the Structure, System Layout, and Electrical Distribution Systems.
What you’ll do

Lead a team of Document Control Specialists
-
Delegate daily task and prioritize work. Manage Engineering Change throughput.

Lead change control process improvement activities.

Perform administrative duties in the PLM system as necessary, including but not limited to:

Configuring PLM System for optimal usability and data access speed.
-
Creating and removing user accounts.
-
Managing supplier access to Symbotic’s PLM system.
-
Configuring, Managing, and supporting PLM access for Symbotic’s partners.
-
Assisting with data migration and release.
-
Creating processes and workflows within PLM.
-
Addressing bugs or software errors with vendor PLM (Arena, Teamcenter) staff.

Maintaining accuracy of product data in PLM.

Participate in cross-functional meetings as the Doc Control representative.

Develop or update policies and procedures related to PLM and organizational change management and process improvement.

Define and run PLM data quality checks to ensure smooth part and BOM transfer to the ERP system.

Review and Route Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to reviewers as necessary.

Track ECOs for approval globally, defining and providing reports weekly and on demand.

Execute Admin Change Orders (ACOs) when appropriate.

Develop and provide PLM and change management training to employees as necessary.

Provide user support to employees in areas of PLM, quality processes, as well as the integrations between PDM, PLM and ERP systems as necessary.
What you’ll need

Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining electronic and physical record compliance with a product lifecycle management tool.

Experienced in a related field, preferably experience working within a quality management system for a manufacturer, ISO experience is an asset.

Competent in writing and formatting of procedures and documents.

Competent in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

Understanding of office procedures, including filing, record management and archiving documentation.

Experience with Teamcenter and Arena PLM.

Experience with SAP ERP.

Experience with SolidWorks ePDM.
