What you’ll be doing

• Maintaining Appinio GmbH financial ledgers, constantly finding new and more efficient processes to prepare them earlier and with less manual work - we will be working with Light.inc.
• Preparing and own the consolidated financial statements (in Lucanet)
• Performing month-end and year-end close processes together with external tax advisors
• Owning the GmbH audit process, currently in close collaboration with PwC
• Ensuring accounts payable and receivable are reconciled (supported by Light.Inc and Payhawk)
• Constantly challenging the way ledgers are being prepared and what processes really adding value, with the overarching objective being a truly digital, scalable accounting function.
• Working together with external advisors to ensure we are compliant on topics such as transfer pricing.

You will thrive in this role if

• You have minimum 5 years of work experience as a Financial Accountant or a similar role - ideally in a start-up or other fast-paced environment.
• You have minimum 2 years of experience with ERP systems, big plus if you were involved in the rollout of an ERP before.
• You constantly challenge the status quo and are not comfortable repeating the same tasks again and again if there is a better solution.
• You completed an accounting apprenticeship, ideally with German additional qualification as "Finanzbuchhalter".
• You are very comfortable with German tax and accounting standards, knowledge in IFRS is a plus.
• You have proven experience in Datev and MS Excel.
• You have an in-depth understanding of business accounting procedures.
• You have a positive and helpful attitude, as well as a pragmatic approach.
• You have German skills at C2 level as well as fluency in English.
