NY Tech’s College of Arts and Sciences seeks a full-time Teaching Assistant Professor, Mathematics, located at the New York City campus.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate is required to teach 21 credit hours during the academic year.      

Assigned courses include all pre-calculus and calculus service courses, as well as other advanced courses within the candidate's area of specialization.


Additional responsibilities include participation in curriculum development and service to the Mathematics Department, including initiatives to reform pre-calculus and calculus courses through the implementation of active learning strategies designed to improve student retention and success.



Qualifications

A doctoral degree in Mathematics Education / Mathematics / Applied Mathematics / Statistics from a Mathematics Department is required.

Preference will be given to candidates having prior teaching experience at a university.

Additionally, we are seeking candidates with experience increasing student engagement in pre-calculus courses using active learning methods, with experience in the development of teaching materials that promote active learning, and who can assist with the professional development of pre-calculus instructors.


Applications will be accepted until the position is filled with a start date of as early as Jan. 25, 2027, but a start date of Sept. 2027 is also possible.
