Girard College continuously seeks to recruit certified top teacher talent in the areas of: Secondary (9-12): Math, Science, Social Studies, English/Language Arts, Career & Technical Education, French, Spanish and Specialty (Art, Music, Health/PE, Reading) and teachers with endorsements in STEM and Social, Emotional and Behavioral Wellness.
Our ideal teacher candidates will need to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and instruction aligned to PA State Standards, work collaboratively with teachers in other disciplines as well as our residential staff who are responsible for overseeing after school advisory and program initiatives for our students. The position reports directly to the Principal of the High School.

- Teaching experience highly preferred with a proven record of high academic and social achievement
- Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in education, in the specific core content job area
- Must possess a minimum of a Level I Instructional Certificate or above in the content area in which they are teaching from the PA Department of Education or must obtain Instructional Intern Certificate in the content area in which they teach within one year from date of hire.
- Important Salary Information: the minimum starting salary for new teachers shall be determined by their completion of years of teaching / counseling experience and degree level. In accordance with the bargaining agreement.
Skills Required

What We Do
The Girard Estate is a charitable trust created by philanthropist Stephen Girard in 1830 to support the public good. It generates funding through investments, real estate, and mining operations, with ninety percent of its revenues supporting Girard College, a boarding school for economically disadvantaged children in Philadelphia, ensuring ongoing opportunities for underserved youth.
