Job Responsibilities

Conduct client interviews and meetings to gather technical information about their research and development activities

Analyze technical documentation, financial data, and other information to identify qualified R&D activities and expenses

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and tax professionals, to gather the necessary information for preparing the R&D tax credit claim

Prepare technical reports and documentation to support the R&D tax credit claim

Perform calculations and quantitative analysis to compute the eligible R&D tax credits and incentives

Review and analyze tax returns and financial statements to identify tax planning opportunities related to R&D tax credits

Keep up to date with the latest R&D tax credit regulations and tax laws to ensure compliance and maximize tax benefits for clients

Assist in providing client support during tax audits or examinations related to R&D tax credits

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, reviewing their work, and sharing best practices

Build and maintain client relationships through excellent service delivery and proactive communication
Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax consulting/compliance within public accounting with a focus on R&D tax incentives
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Taxation

CPA, JD, EA or equivalent credential
