Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a highly qualified Senior Tax Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you'll report directly to the Tax Director and play an integral part in the corporate tax department. Your responsibilities will include supporting the tax compliance and tax accounting functions as well as assisting with tax planning, performing technical tax research, and supporting other strategic initiatives. This position is ideal for a highly motivated tax professional to gain exposure to a broad range of complex tax issues and grow within a fast-paced and dynamic tax department at an entrepreneurial and rapidly growing company.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns and supporting workpapers, estimated tax payments, and various other tax compliance obligations for Apex Fintech Solutions and its subsidiary businesses. Coordinate with external tax return preparers to ensure tax returns are filed timely and accurately.
- Prepare the quarterly and annual income tax provisions and the associated financial disclosures, including tracking book-to-tax differences, effective tax rate reconciliations, and deferred tax inventories. Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Perform in-depth technical research to address complex tax issues, identify planning opportunities, and analyze the impact of pending legislation.
- Assist with special projects including M&A due diligence, tax planning, cash tax forecasting, tax audit support, and other business initiatives.
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline existing processes and leverage tax technology solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently partner with internal stakeholders (including Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Legal, HR) as well as managing external advisors.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Taxation (or equivalent work experience) required; Master's degree preferred
- 3+ years of federal and state corporate income tax experience in private industry and/or public accounting.
- Experience with ASC 740, Accounting for Income Taxes.
- CPA and/or MST preferred or in progress of completion.
- Big 4 / large accounting firm experience preferred
Required Skills/Abilities
- Experience with OneSource Tax Provision preferred
- Proven ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical ability and perseverance to solve problems independently with high attention to detail
- Strong desire to learn new things and grow within your profession
- Proficiency with Microsoft office products with an emphasis on Excel
- Requires flexibility and ability to prioritize workload effectively.
