Tax Specialist

UPM Raflatac Mexico is looking for a Tax Specialist to join our Finance team in Sentura, Tlalnepantla.

What you will do  

• Ensure Latam-level conformity to local Tax legislation requirements, identify and inform any change in tax regulation 

• Support Finance and Tax Risk Assessment of Latam businesses and operations, working in a coordinated manner with regional tax team 

• Support Tax Services by ensuring cost-efficient, on-time delivery of tax services, complying with UPM business needs, local accounting standards, and fiscal requirements, contributing to accomplishing targets of efficiency & quality 

• Assume responsibility of Internal Controls in tax processes 

• Have an active role in tax change initiatives and coordinate taxation activities within Latam legal entities with outsourced company and regional tax team, ensuring ongoing compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements 

• Contribute to tax related projects, investment promotions, new business set-ups, or any other tax promotion in coordination with Finance Manager and Tax Regional Team 

• Implement, monitor and maintain standard work in related processes (e.g. SOX, Accounting Operations and Internal Control) and guarantee an efficient and smoothly process and connection between UPM team and outsource company 

• Illustrate UPM values and guiding principles in behaviour 

 
Who you are  

• You have knowledge of tax and finance 

• You have degree in taxation or an equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience 

• You have clear understanding of technical accounting 

• You have advanced analytical and financial modelling skills 

• You are advanced in SAP/BI or equivalent skills 

• You are skilled in Spanish and English skills 

• You can provide solutions that lead to effective outcomes and business insights, and you have worked on a process improvement agenda, showing the ability to assess and enhance processes 

• Display effective interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
