Job Description

Reporting to the Group Tax Manager, the Tax Specialist will support the Group Tax Function based in the UK, with a particular focus on Northern and Western Europe. This role will be part of a local Tax Team in Romania and will focus on the following components:

  • all tax compliance within Northern and Western Europe – with a particular focus on the UK
  • assist the Group Tax Manager with project work
  • ad hoc administration. 

Key responsibilities:


  • Assist the Group Tax Manager with all aspects of UK tax compliance (corporate, VAT, withholding)
  • Be responsible for, with the assistance of the Group Tax Manager, for ongoing tax compliance in Northern and Western Europe
  • Review of documents/invoices and creation of files that back up tax filings.
  • Using Oracle to create tax reports
  • Support interaction with tax authorities, external tax advisors and auditors.
  • Provide the business with ad hoc advice via email
  • Support Group Tax with SOX compliance
  • Support Group Tax with special projects
  • Support the Group Tax Manager to maintain oversight /control of all tax risks and provisions
  • Be capable to develop and manage various projects
  • Administrative support (where required) to the Group Tax department
  • Ensure SOX controls related to Tax management area are designed, implemented, and performed in accordance with prescribed SOX requirements and in a timely manner, effectively and thoroughly documented. Perform internal controls responsibilities in accordance with Endava’s SOX compliance programme and ensure direct reports who contribute to SOX controls processes are informed and understand their SOX tasks
  • Support the preparation and consolidation of financial statements for SEC filings, including all specific SOX certificates, in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Educational Background

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, or Accounting/ Tax Certificate or alternative relevant financial background.

Previous Experience

Intermediate experience (4-7 years) in handling accounting and/or tax issues
Experience within a large accountancy firm is preferred

Prior Knowledge and Skills

  • Good understanding of Accounting, Oracle, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong multitasking, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in both Romanian and English. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently manage a variety of stakeholders at all levels within a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
