What you will do
The Senior Tax Specialist provides tax advisory support across multiple APAC markets, including Japan, Korea, Guam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea. Reporting to the Tax leadership team, this role partners with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors to manage tax risks, ensure compliance with local tax regulations, and provide strategic tax guidance that supports business operations across the region.
Based in Singapore, the role leverages close collaboration with APAC regional leadership and the broader Finance organization, including CBS and FP&A, to deliver timely, consistent, and effective tax advisory services while strengthening institutional knowledge and stakeholder relationships.
Essential Functions
Tax Advisory & Risk Management
- Provide tax advisory support to APAC markets on business transactions, operational initiatives, and tax-related matters.
- Identify, assess, and recommend solutions to mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Support business leaders by providing practical tax guidance aligned with organizational objectives.
Tax Compliance & Governance
- Conduct tax liability research and interpret tax legislation to support business decisions.
- Assist with tax examinations, audits, appeals, and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Ensure tax documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of tax policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external tax advisors and internal business partners across APAC.
- Collaborate with Finance, FP&A, CBS, Legal, and regional leadership to address tax matters and support strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor by providing timely and accurate tax guidance to stakeholders.
Planning & Continuous Improvement
- Support tax planning initiatives that optimize tax positions while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess business impacts across supported markets.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, enhance efficiencies, and strengthen internal controls.
You will be a great fit if you
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related discipline. CPA or equivalent professional tax qualification preferred.
- Have 4+ years of experience in accounting, finance, taxation, or tax advisory.
- Bring experience supporting multinational organizations or regional tax operations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of tax regulations, tax research, compliance, and tax risk management.
- Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation.
- Have strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with experience collaborating across cross-functional and geographically diverse teams.
- Exhibit excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present tax recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
