What will I be doing?
- Analyse and monitor tax compliance obligations for our operations in Malta and other European jurisdictions, ensuring timely and accurate filings in accordance with local tax laws and administrative requirements.
- Track and interpret updates to EU-level and local tax regulations, including obligations specific to Malta and relevant EU reporting frameworks, ensuring our activities remain fully compliant.
- Maintain, test, and enhance internal controls related to corporate tax processes for our European entities, ensuring consistency and best practices across jurisdictions.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining tax documentation, working papers, and reports for Malta and European filings, ensuring accurate and comprehensive record-keeping.
- Partner with finance, legal, and operational teams across the group to ensure accurate tax data, efficient reporting, and smooth coordination of compliance processes.
- Support the development and refinement of tax policies and procedures for Malta and the EU region, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
What skills do I need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent) are a plus.
- 2–5+ years of experience in tax compliance, corporate tax, or audit, ideally within European jurisdictions.
- Experience with Malta tax compliance is a strong advantage.
- Strong knowledge of EU and local tax regulations, ideally including Malta’s tax environment.
- Experience with corporate tax compliance, VAT, and multi-jurisdictional reporting requirements.
- Understanding of internal control frameworks and tax governance best practices.
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into operational requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, especially when explaining tax topics to non-tax stakeholders.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions.
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership of tasks.
- Fluent English.
