This is a 12-month contract.

What You'll Do

Joining as the Tax Manager you will be a key member of our tax team and part of our integral team of tax professionals who roll up their sleeves and support the global CAR Group business in the following areas:

• Ensuring tax compliance across our global group of companies (tax effect accounting, financial reporting, income tax, FBT and BAS reviews) is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensuring internal tax reporting is completed monthly.
• Undertaking regular risk reviews to ascertain that business positions taken are consistent with the group tax risk framework.
• Research and draft tax papers to support tax positions taken by the business.
• Support the business as a trusted tax adviser to ensure tax risks are appropriately identified and managed.
• Assist with the execution of tax projects, automation, tax transparency initiatives and M&A activities.
• Maintain tax governance processes, procedures and controls.

What are we looking for?

If you’re an established Big 4 or mid-tier Junior Manager (or on the cusp of) looking to gain some vital industry experience, or an industry tax professional looking to make your next move, this role could be perfect for you.

• Ability to interpret and apply tax legislation, exercise judgement on technical matters and liaise with external tax advisors.
• Ability to work collaboratively across different parts of the business to provide timely advice and gain input and buy-in into tax initiatives.
• Knowledge of accounting requirements and ability to think outside the box to find practical solutions.
• CA, CPA or CTA qualified.
• Strong commercial sense and willingness to step outside of the tax area when warranted.
• Experience with OneSource.
