You will manage all local direct tax matters for a material country or cluster of countries including compliance and local audit defense; local tax planning and transfer pricing; and subject matter expertise for accounting for income tax matters.
How you will contribute
You will:

  • Be responsible for all direc tax compliance requirements in Switzerland
  • Lead all direct tax matters for Switzerlandincluding the preparation of direct tax returns, filings and related matters to ensure timeliness and accuracy in compliance with tax laws. You will also support European and Global business teams based in Switzerland and get involded in m&a transactions .
  • Ensure direct tax compliance requirements for the country are timely and accurately met, and that tax policies are followed including compliance with internal standards on completion dates, record retention and workpaper support, and provide local tax expertise to the Tax Accounting team/external support.
  • Advise on business and process improvements in all matters regarding direct tax as well as at interfaces with other functions and jurisdictions;
  • Advise Finance colleagues in matters of Tax Accounting and Tax Reporting as subject matter expert as provided for in the applicable Ways-of-Working, standard operating procedures or other policies, or as required and agreed in respect of local needs
  • Ensure timely and accurate feedback to Senior Directors Tax Planning MEU and Senior Director Tax Compliance on all direct tax activities and maintaining an overall view of all direct taxes in Switzerland and associated tax risks
  • Monitor local tax legislative events, tax audits, tax planning and business initiative developments. You will provide management with ongoing income tax guidance and support.
  • Contract review from direct tax perspective, supporting other functions in their projects from direct tax perspective
  • Working closely with and managing third party tax advisors/auditors for corporate income tax process and participate in coordinating third party services in other jurisdictions;
  • Work with auditors, participation in meetings within tax topics, set up calls with internal colleagues on above matters
  • Develop and continually improve standard direct tax compliance processes and ways of working.
  • Contribute to a high-performing Tax team for the country and region (Mondelēz International employees and actively manage the EY Program relationship).


What you will bring
A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in:

  • Qualification as Swiss certified tax expert (required).
  • At least seven years tax experience in public accounting firm (big 4 preferred), law firm or large multinational company (required).
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders of different seniority and from different business functions (required).
  • Good communication skill (required).
  • Fluent English and German in speaking and in writing (required).

Managing all Direct Tax matters in Switzerland, i.e. managing all Direct Tax compliance requirements, general tax field audits, advising on local business and direct tax technical matters, advising Accounting & External Reporting on accounting for corporate income taxes. Ensure Transfer-Pricing compliance. Support Regional Tax Planning colleagues on tax planning initiatives, business model protection, tax audit support, M&A projects and legal entity restructurings.
