Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team in Malaysia. The Tax Manager will be critical in managing the company’s tax compliance, advisory, and reporting functions across the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax law, excellent analytical skills, a strong team player, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all tax matters in Malaysia (Corporate income tax, SST, WHT, and other taxes)

• Reviewing contracts/ intragroup agreements from a tax perspective

• Support tax audits of entities in Malaysia and manage tax queries from the tax authorities, challenges, and disputes

• Assist with transfer pricing matters and guide intercompany transactions

• Assist to monitor the tax positions and provide regular updates and analysis

• Identify and manage tax risks/opportunities 

• Research tax issues and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations

• Provide tax support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal and operations, etc to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into business decisions

• Project management for tax-related topic (e-invoicing, revision of SST rate)

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in Tax services/ advisory in an international company (preferably in both MNC and big four)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Tax or Accounting

• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills in order to liaise with the regional and group level teams 

• Experience in digital services and/or a fast-paced tech industry

• Ability to take on challenges and work under pressure

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
