Senior Tax Associate will play a critical role in managing all aspects of federal and state corporate taxes, will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and tax advisors to ensure tax compliances, will assist in preparation of tax provisions in compliance with US GAAP and income and indirect tax returns, and strategize on tax planning to support business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of annual/ quarterly tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including effective tax rate calculations and deferred tax analysis.
- Oversee the preparation and filing of federal and state corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Assist with the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position, minimize tax liabilities, and support overall business objectives, focusing on US federal and state taxes.
- Work with external tax advisors to assess indirect tax applicability as necessary and manage indirect tax filings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for US Federal and state tax authorities, manage tax audits and inquiries, and work to resolve tax controversies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, conduct tax research as needed, and provide guidance on the tax implications of business transactions and initiatives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, HR to provide tax support and guidance on various initiatives, transactions, and projects.
- Identify opportunities to streamline tax processes, enhance efficiencies, and strengthen internal controls within the tax function.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or advanced degree (MST) preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including experience at a public accounting firm and/or multinational corporate tax department.
- Strong technical knowledge of US corporate tax principles, including familiarity with international tax concepts and transfer pricing.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various levels of the organization.
New York Applicants: The salary range for this position is $79,100 - $135,600. Actual pay may vary based on experience or geographic location.
