Job DescriptionTo execute tax processes and services to various stakeholders within a dedicated portfolio to minimise tax risks. Provide advisory services on tax aspects to ensure that the area is undertaken in a compliant manner to avoid operational losses, fines, penalties or reputational damage to the organisation and enable the competitive advantage of the organisation.
QualificationsMinimum Qualification:
- First Degree in Finance and Accounting
Experience Required :
- 5 - 7 years experience in Finance & Value Management
- The role requires an incumbent with a good understanding of the entire Finance value chain but specialist experience in Tax. Experience in Banking and Financial Services is required. Accounting systems knowledge - SAP and Finacle IT systems would be required. Sound knowledge of the relevant regulatory requirements and upcoming developments applicable to a specific tax portfolio as well as a solid understanding of banking products and activities.
Key Outputs :
- Analyse the operational activities within a dedicated tax portfolio to identify compliance risks and therefore ensure adherence to the relevant Standard Bank Group compliance frameworks and standards.
- Proactively identify and address gaps in controls, processes and procedures as well as advise on and monitor remediation plans to address any short-comings.
- Provide tax advisory services to a dedicated portfolio to ensure that the portfolio can comfortably manage compliance risks and conduct activities in a compliant manner.
- Strive to influence a continual reduction in Tax costs by ensuring that the specific tax portfolio is compliant with frameworks, standards and procedures and tax regulatory.
- Perform risk assessments and provide solutions to manage tax risk, reduce tax cost and/or improve inefficiencies
