Position Summary
Reporting to Regional Management/Accounting & Tax Head, to support the finance department in carrying out the responsibilities of the tax department, focusing on Samsung Asia (SAPL) and Samsung Electronics Singapore (SESP) entity.Role and Responsibilities
- Handle the tax matters/filing of the Singapore entities, including Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, Expatriate’s Tax, GST, Transfer Pricing documentation, Pillar Two Domestic Top-up Tax, etc.
- Attend to enquiries from tax office and develop strategies to support tax filing positions
- Effectively manage tax risks of the Singapore entities
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly/quarterly tax reporting and other tax related reporting as required by the Singapore entities for reporting
- Review agreements on all tax related clauses and/or ensure necessary tax implications are all addressed in favor of the Samsung entity
- Liaise with auditors, external agents, HQ and other relevant stakeholders on tax related matters as and when required
- Drive effective implementation of in-country procedures to ensure proper compliance with Singapore tax laws
- Keep abreast with tax developments and ensure that the management is informed of relevant changes
- Manage and report tax issues of subsidiaries in SEA&O region
Skills and Qualifications
- 6 ~ 10 years of experience in Big 4 accounting firm and/or large MNC commercial working environment
- Degree in Accounting & Finance/ACCA
- Experience in SAP is advantageous though not a must
- CPA or equivalent preferred
- Strong tax compliance background
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Able to work in a fast-driven and dynamic work environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills
- Ability to commence work within short notice will be an advantage
