We are recruiting for a ‘Tax Manager Europe’ based in our European headquarters in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. You will be reporting to the Director Tax Europe. This is the ideal role for those who consider the move from a large accounting firm to an in-house tax role. The ideal candidate will have experience in the tax practice of a Big 4 accounting firm working for multinational clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be involved in all aspects of the tax function in a US listed multinational such as: acquisitions and restructurings, transfer pricing, tax accounting, tax compliance, tax audits, indirect tax and international tax projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, both internal and external.

  • Assist M&A advisors with tax due diligence and structuring for acquisitions and ensure integration of acquisitions into our global tax control framework.

  • Support tax planning strategies and legal entity reduction efforts.

  • Collaborate with external advisors to support tax compliance, Transfer Pricing filings and tax audit and litigations.

  • Provide expert advice on tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and strategies to optimize the company's tax position.

  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely and accurate completion of tax audits.

  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company's financial statements and tax positions.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and external partners to facilitate effective communication and cooperation on tax-related matters.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive process improvements, optimize tax efficiency, and enhance overall financial performance.

  • Support US REIT testing and the implementation of REIT compliance strategies for Europe.

  • Monitor and improve the Global and European Transfer Pricing model.

What are we looking for?

  • A Master’s degree in Tax, combined with a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in a public accounting firm and/or tax experience in a large global corporation.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Dutch and international tax regimes/regulations.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
