Tax Information Reporting (TIR) is responsible for end-to-end client tax activities including validation of client tax certifications, withholding, information reporting under Internal Revenue Service, Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), and Common Reporting Standard (CRS) regimes and Citi-wide governance.
The Tax Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional role. Typically deals with variable issues involving FATCA and CRS requirements, with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment and analytical thinking when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop best practices and implement appropriate procedures and controls to ensure consistent compliance with FATCA and/or CRS Requirements
- Act as an internally and externally recognized subject matter expert
- Migration of work into our centralized hub
- Respond to inquiries from internal operation areas and clients
- Implements workflow or process change and redesign and uses a thorough knowledge of the specific function.
- Accountable for regular reporting or process administration as "owner".
- Primary focus is on execution within defined parameters.
- Assists in the management of one or more processes, reports, procedures or products.
- Support in audits by tax authorities and Internal Audits
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years relevant experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to drive engagement and close interactions with key stakeholders and clients.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Power BI, Python, KNIME, Xceptor or other digital tools is preferred.
