Role
The Tax Counsel & Advisory group seeks a highly motivated individual who will support various front office business units and assist with research and planning. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with domestic and international planning.
- Support various front office business units, including analyzing and structuring transactions, drafting legal documentation and memoranda, advising on reputational risk, and advising senior business leaders on tax matters.
- Assist with transfer pricing strategy, planning and defense.
- Analyze new products and business lines for tax issues.
- Advise on information reporting and withholding matters relating to the firm’s brokerage businesses.
- Advise on tax matters related to the firm’s joint ventures and merchant banking portfolio.
- Advise on new tax legislation and guidance that may impact the Firm.
- Advise on IRS audit matters.
- Advise on tax equity/clean energy investments.
- Assist with additional ad-hoc projects as they arise.
Qualifications
- JD with at least four years of relevant experience at a major law firm or accounting firm.
- Experience in taxation of financial products, U.S. international tax, subchapter C, tax equity and U.S. information reporting.
- Ability to learn new areas and concepts quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build, develop and maintain solid working relationships throughout various businesses and corporate departments.
Primary Location: New York Full Time Salary Range of $200,000-$225,000

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
