Your role at @Chanel:
As a Tax Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the Tax department, ensuring tax compliance, mitigating risks, and supporting the company's tax strategy. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and business partnership to ensure compliance with tax legislation, optimize tax processes, and support the organization in strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Coordinate indirect tax calculations and support the calculation of withholding taxes;
- Prepare accounting adjustments required for month-end and year-end closing;
- Reconcile tax-related general ledger accounts, balances, and adjustments;
- Prepare and submit all required tax returns and ancillary tax obligations;
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation and internal policies.
Tax Planning & Advisory
- Identify and proactively assess tax planning opportunities while mitigating tax risks;
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders on tax legislation and operational impacts;
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure tax efficiency across current and future business operations;
- Lead studies related to the Tax Reform, evaluating operational impacts and implementing required process improvements.
Tax Audits & Risk Management
- Manage tax audits and coordinate responses to tax authorities;
- Develop defense strategies for tax assessments and administrative proceedings, minimizing financial exposure and penalties;
- Monitor tax risks and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Support internal clients, including Accounts Payable, Logistics, Retail Stores, and other business areas;
- Plan, organize, prioritize, and delegate activities within the Tax department to ensure operational excellence;
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, fostering continuous learning and high performance;
- Act as a strategic business partner, supporting decision-making through technical expertise and collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with specialization in Business Administration, Accounting, Law, or related fields;
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Tax, preferably in indirect taxation and tax compliance;
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft AX 2012 and Dynamics 365 is considered a plus);
- Advanced English (spoken and written);
- Strong leadership skills and strategic mindset;
- Solid technical knowledge of Brazilian tax legislation and tax operations.
