Basic Function

The Tax Compliance Coordinator supports the execution of tax-related deliverables within the Cost Segregation department, assisting in the preparation, review, and coordination of projects to ensure accuracy and timely completion. The primary focus of this role is to support the team in delivering high-quality work while developing technical knowledge and process efficiency.

 

Position’s Intention

To support the accurate and timely preparation of tax-related deliverables, including 3115 filings, by assisting with project coordination, documentation, and technical tasks while contributing to overall team efficiency and quality.

 

Success Measurements

Success is measured by the timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks, responsiveness in supporting internal teams and clients, and progressive growth in technical proficiency and contribution to project quality.

 

Essential Duties

  • Assist with the preparation of 3115 forms and related tax documentation
  • Support quality control review of draft client communications and deliverables
  • Assist internal teams with tax-related questions and escalate more complex issues as needed
  • Support the review of project documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Assist in identifying potential tax issues that may impact cost segregation studies
  • Help coordinate project timelines and track deadlines
  • Assist with follow-up on outsourced projects and deliverables
  • Maintain communication with internal teams regarding project status
  • Perform basic tax research and support knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills

Required Skills:               

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with moderate supervision

  • Ability to multitask effectively and perform in a fast-paced environment

 

Education/Certification:

  • Two (2) to Four (4) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
     

Technical & Industry Skills:                                                                                                                                                                         

  • Basic accounting knowledge, preferably within cost segregation or a related field
  • Exposure to reviewing financial or construction-related documentation
  • Basic understanding of depreciation concepts and tax documentation (including 3115 preparation)
  • Ability to assist in reconciliation and data validation tasks
Language & Communication Skills:
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to respond to inquiries and escalate issues appropriately
Reasoning & Analytical Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, or schedule form
  • Ability to support analysis of data and documentation under guidance

Organizational & Execution Skills:

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to support project workflows from initiation through completion
  • Ability to follow established processes and contribute to efficiency improvements

 

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with CRM and project management software
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new tools and systems quickly
